Hi there, not sure if i'm posting in the correct area but I have an E-Systems pc model Ei 304. And I ran the windows error checking which took quite a long time. When it was complete all hell broke loose! So I contacted the guys at spyware info forum who helped me in the past with another pc issue. They have now directed me here to see if you can help me. So, the big issue is, I'd noticed that my pc started to freeze while loading my settings into Windows (it happened about 4 times) so I ran the Windows error checking and checked both boxes to see if this would help. But now all hell has broken loose! What I've found so far is -

There is no sound and when I tried to update the drivers wizard wanted me to insert the 'cd that came with the software' which I don't have, but I tried to update some of the other drivers and got the same problem.

I cannot perform a system restore nor will it allow me to set the disk space usage. When I try to do a restore I get a message saying 'system restore is not able to protect your computer. Please restart your computer, and then run system restore again....which I did a few times.

I cannot minimise any windows, when I try to they close...or appear to.

I cannot do a manual windows update...nothing happens when I click the link.

I cannot launch the windows search nor help.

The taskbar and start menu disappear each time I shutdown and then switch on.

I cannot update nor launch my anti-virus software which is McAfee. I'd

I cannot launch Internet Explorer.

I also can't launch MalwareBytes.

I cannot remove any programs.

I cannot copy and paste anything.

I cannot download anything.

That's so far. I did notice when I ran the Error Checking that it was deleting a lot of invalid security id's (index entries?) Then replacing them with default security id's...no idea if this is significant.

Would really appreciate some direction.

Many thanks
Ali
