We All Know How Great Internet Shopping Can Be!!What are the advantages of buying onlineBefore You go shopping you should ask yourself the following: Do you trust the vendor? Here at User Guides we use PayPal secure ePayments, make no mistake no bank will issue an online credit card authorizing system to any company with out very in depth checks and a proven history. The biggest reason they carry out these searches is because its actually the banks and the card issuers who are at risk from rouge traders. The customer is 100% protected by their card.
Do they have a 'secure' server? We use PayPal and they have to have a secure server for thier live online system to operate. PayPal has 86.6 Million users world wide and is owned by ebay, please see www.paypal.co.uk for details. What are their delivery times? Our delivery times vary, normally we always try to deliver between 1 - 7 days, with the emphasis on next day delivery, obvoisly email orders and downloads are instant. Can you contact them if the order goes wrong? We have a dedicated customer services team and an automated returns procedure. This means that if in the unlikely event you receive an incorrect or defective product you can go online 24hrs a day 7 days a week and instigate an RMA. We operate a swap on the door policy so your defective or incorrect item is picked up at the same time your new replacement is delivered. We believe that no company can claim to get it right every time and hope that we can always work together to resolve any issues that you may have to your satisfaction. Are there any hidden charges. The only extra we charge is the 2% surcharge for the use of credit cards. We do not consider this a hidden charge as it is well advertised on the payment page. We do have to charge the 2% as we could not offer you such great prices and take the 2% surcharge off our margins.
How Do I Know I'm in a Secure Server? When you go into a secure server the key or lock in the bottom of your browser will appear locked or highlighted. The address of the web site will also change from http://www... to https://www... signifying that the site is secure.
On browsers which allow you to change their appearance (commonly known as theming) the address bar or text may also change colour, or the padlock may look different or appear in a different place, but something should always appear to indicate you are on a secure site. If none of this happens, then this is not a secure server - don't enter your credit card details. Don't be afraid to email the vendor and ask them a few questions to put your mind at rest! You will notice that on our site once you have entered your name and address you are then sent to a secure server to enter your card details. What Else Should I Do? Just like giving your credit card to a waiter or paying for petrol at the garage, so long as you take some basic precautions shopping online is safe to do. You should: * Always print out your order confirmation. * Order more than just one item at a time to save on delivery costs.
Some other useful sites: * Office of Fair Trading * Trading Standards * Data Protection Registrar * ConsumerDirect * HM Customs and Excise
