The Aspire 5100 laptop is manufactured by Acer™ using devices supplied by Broadcom™, ALi™, ATI™, Realtek™, Logitech™, KYE Systems™, VIA™, Conexant™, Atheros™, ENE Technology™, AMD™ and Acer™. The bluetooth hardware is controlled by the bluetooth controller device. M5602 video camera controller supports the digital camera hardware. The graphics device utilises the radeon mobility x1600 m56p and the radeon xpress 200m rs482 hardware.

Hd audio can have up to 3 devices, the high definition audio, ixp sb4x0 high definition controller and the realtek high definition audio. Human interface runs on both the mx518 optical mouse and the netscroll mini traveler genius netscroll 120.

Ieee 1394 is designed for use with the fire ii ohci controller vt6306 7 8 hardware. The modem device utilises the hdaudio soft data fax modem smartcp and the hda cx11270 soft modem hardware. Network can have up to 5 devices, the ar2413 nic, rtl 8169 gigabit ethernet, rtl 8139 8139c 8139c, bcm4311 wlan and the airforce one 54g bcm4318 wireless lan. Pcmcia system uses the cb 712 4 cardbus device.

Sd host controllers is designed for use with the ene pci secure digital card reader controller hardware. The storage device utilises the ixp sb400 sata controller and the ixp sb400 ide controller hardware.
