The Inspiron 1520 laptop is manufactured by Dell™ using devices supplied by Dell™, nVidia™, Intel™, IDT™, Microsoft™, Broadcom™, Logitech™, O2 Micro™, Ricoh™, OmniVision™, Conexant™ and Realtek™. The bluetooth hardware is controlled by the wireless 355 bluetooth device. Graphics runs on both the geforce 9300m gs g98 and the geforce 8600m gt g84.

Hd audio can have up to 4 devices, the 82801i hd controller ich9, idt high definition audio, sigmatel high definition audio and the 82801h hd controller ich8.

Human interface can have up to 3 devices, the mouse boot interface subclass, keyboard boot interface subclass and the v220 cordless optical mouse. The ieee 1394 device utilises the ohci ieee 1394 host bus controller and the r5c551 ieee 1394 controller hardware. Imaging is designed for use with the ov2640 webcam hardware.

The modem hardware is controlled by the hda cx11270 soft modem device. Network can have up to 5 devices, the rtl8111 8168b pci express gigabit ethernet, wifi link 5100, bcm4401 b0 100base tx, bcm4311 wlan and the golan pro wireless 3945abg. Sd host controllers can have up to 3 devices, the sd host controller compatible sda standard, r5c822 sd sdio mmc ms mspro host adapter and the xd picture card controller. Smart card readers is designed for use with the r5c843 mmc host controller hardware. Storage can have up to 3 devices, the ich9m m e sata ahci, 82801hbm hem sata ide ich8m ich8m e and the 82801hbm hem ide ich8m ich8m e.
